Deterrence chip

Deterrence chips are a technology designed by Cybertronians that are usually used by Autobots on their prisoners. Deterrence chips are administered to a prisoner's head and, when activated, will blow up, killing the prisoner.

When Impactor was sent to Garrus-9, a Deterrence chip was put in his head to keep him in line.

Later, when he escaped, and was found and picked up by the Wreckers, Perceptor tried to extract the Deterrence chip but was unable to. Last Stand of the Wreckers #2 Later, while on Garrus-9, Perceptor, Pyro, Ironfist and Verity Carlo argued over whether to detonate the Deterrence chips in all of the former Decepticon prisoners who had been released to hunt them, as this would also detonate Impactor's chip. Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 They opted not to, and while evading the Decepticons hunting them, Ironfist designed a weapon that used deterrence chips as ammunition. When he, Perceptor and Verity arrived where the rest of the Wreckers were facing Overlord, he gave Springer the gun, with which the Wrecker opened fire on Overlord. After the Decepticon took down Springer and Perceptor, and prepared to finish Ironfist, the Wrecker revealed that the gun had injected countless Deterrence chips into Overlord, and that he had figured out how to isolate the detonation signal, so that only the Deterrence chips in Overlord would detonate, then subsequently did just that.
