Kup (SG)

Kup is an evil Autobot from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

Kup is a hardened Autobot warrior. Tough and pragmatic, he's not above intimidating his own reluctant allies into action by giving them some life-threatening motivation.

Kup was a member of the Cybertron Elite Guard. Following the launch of the Ark and Nemesis, Kup and the other members of Remote Patrol Six were scanning the Plait Expanse's radiation in an attempt to find a way to escape Cybertron. When Downshift was ordered to check out a strange signal that Sandstorm discovered, he was initially reluctant, but staring down the business end of Kup's blaster convinced him to change his mind and go. A while later, after Megatron was assassinated, Kup and the rest of Remote Patrol Six made their move. They converged on Optimus Prime's position, intending to kill Optimus and install Rodimus in his place as Prime. The Autobot leader gave them a chance to walk away and forget that the whole event had happened, but Kup's subordinates opened fire anyway. Unfortunately, Optimus was stronger and crazier than they allowed for, and he easily fought them back. As Optimus plowed through Remote Patrol Six, Kup's head was crushed by Optimus Prime's bare hand. Optimus remarked that he had thought better of Kup. Reunification: Part 5

IDW Shattered Glass comic

Kup was a founding member of the Wreckers, an elite private security force under the command of Ultra Magnus that operated outside Cybertronian law. While stationed at the Senate building, Kup watched as his teammate Bumblebee intimidated Flashbox and Laserbeak into abandoning an interview with Shockwave. Ultra Magnus insisted that Shockwave was his friend, the arguments spiraled out of control, and when Kup criticized Magnus's handling of the situation, the Wrecker leader lost his cool and hurled Kup and Impactor into each other. To prove their loyalty to Optimus Prime, Kup and the other Wreckers later stormed the Senate building and massacred everyone inside, leaving only Shockwave alive so that he could be subjected to empurata. After the end of the war, Kup and the other members of the Wreckers worked as bodyscrappers who hunted down Decepticon stragglers; during one skirmish in the Static Zone, Kup and a few other Wreckers were hunting for Sixshot when Blurr stole their kill. Shattered Glass #1

Some time later, following the Decepticon liberation of Kaon, Kup and the other Wreckers traveled to the city of Pax, where they watched as Ultra Magnus deposed Optimus Prime and seized command of his forces. Shattered Glass II #1

• Kup's colors are based on Wings Universe Scourge. His Fun Publications incarnation is based on Wings Universe Kup, while his IDW self applies those same colors to his Studio Series toy.
