Rattrap encounters Brainstorm a second time.

Contents

Synopsis

While sleeping, Rattrap again finds himself transported elsewhere via his dreams and encounters a robot who introduces himself as Brainstorm in a new body. He recalls that when they last met, he defeated Scorponok single-handedly, a feat he could have never accomplished normally. After realizing that he had somehow drawn upon Rattrap's energy for a power boost, he began researching the subject at the transtector factory in the G Nebula 89 and eventually refined it into Getmaster technology. After the technology proved functional with the prototype transtector, Super Ginrai, Brainstorm went on to incorporate it into a new body for himself. Going back to the matter of Rattrap's self-confidence issues, Brainstorm tells him that this only shows that no matter his size, he contains limitless potential.

Their talk is interrupted when Grand Maximus reports that Overlord's forces are attacking the factory. Requesting Rattrap's help, Brainstorm rushes into battle with the rat in his chest and draws upon his Beast Power a second time, using it to defeat Overlord with a mighty Getmaster-powered blast. Before they part, he tells Rattrap that he'll soon come see him in the Legends World, and indeed, the very next morning he arrives at the Autobot Axalon offices. As Brainstorm and Rattrap greet each other as friends, Chromedome is left confused about how they could possibly have met before.

Notes

Continuity notes

  • The plot of this volume is a follow-up to volume 9.
  • This volume confirms that Rattrap wasn't just dreaming but actually did visit other worlds back in volumes 8 and 9, something hinted on by the events of "Go! Adventure".
  • Brainstorm describes himself as having "destroyed MegaZarak", Scorponok's transtector, in volume 9, meaning the Decepticon got a new one after the events of Masterforce only for Brainstorm to wreck it before "Headmaster Chapter Prologue".

Errors

  • The name of Brainstorm's head stage is inconsistent from volume 9, in which he was referred to as "Cana" in accordance with toy packaging. In this volume he is simply called "Brainstorm" even in his small form, just like how The Headmasters anime treated it.
  • Chromedome's helmet is colored entirely grey like his original appearance, lacking the red sides it's supposed to have in Legends.
