Loren Fortean

Loren Fortean is a human from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.

With a fake tan and perfect smile, Loren Fortean live and breathes Hollywood. As part of his TV show Beyond the Mysterious Unknown with Loren Fortean he has traveled the world investigating strange and mysterious phenomena such as crop circles, the Loch Ness Monster, and the longevity of yellow snack cakes.

After twenty six episodes of fruitless investigation, Fortean obtained footage of what he believed was a Yeti, but was actually the Decepticon Abominus. Hiring Brigadier Wilson as a guide, he took his cameraman Ernie on a trek up Mount Everest to search for the beast, using his show's funds to live-stream the results to TVs across America. They had some some early success spotting a family of Yeti climbing the mountain (in actuality it was a group of Autobots hunting Abominus) and footage of lasers, however as the trip wore on, Fortean began getting into disagreements with Wilson as to how they should proceed. They also remained unaware of the fact that Slipstream was helping them by clearing Abominus's traps.

In the end, Fortean was only able to obtain audio recording of Sideswipea Yeti yelling at them to leave the mountain, however it was enough to convince the studio to renew him for another three seasons. Autobot World Tour

• This character is named after Charles Fort, a writer who focused on unexplained or paranormal phenomena such as UFOs, psychic powers, mystery animals, etc.; to this day many people or publications devoted to such topics refer to themselves as "Fortean." While less black-and-white, "Loren" might be a reference to prominent cryptozoology author Loren Coleman.
