| This article is about the Insecticon clone type. For the G.I. Joe human, see Salvo (G.I. Joe).

- Salvos are Decepticon Insecticons from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Salvos (γ΅γ«γγΌ SarubΕ) are clones of the Insecticon Bombshell. Though they are almost physically identical to Bombshell, with the same powers, their individual intelligence is far too low (to the point of almost non-existence) to be effective as little more than a mass army used to bludgeon enemy fortifications with their horn-mounted dart guns. Though they are fairly sturdy, should Bombshell's control-beams be interrupted, they will instantly crumble into a pile of component parts.
Fiction
The Transformers cartoon
Technically, the Salvos have never appeared in any fiction, as this specific coloration has never been used. However, the Salvo designation can be considered
retroactive, so any appearance of the Bombshell-model Insecticon clones can be considered a Salvo appearance.

- Collector's Edition Salvo is a redeco of the original Bombshell mold, transforming into a mechanical rhinoceros beetle. Its coloration is based on the original pre-Transformers "Waruder Kabutron" Diaclone release; the molding is as well, as it lacks the indent in the chromed horn added during the Transformers run that enables it to fold down further in robot mode. The "control seat" in the insect-mode back / robot-mode chest can open up and store one of the three energon cubes that come with the set. Or anything else you wanna cram in there.
- Salvo was only available in an e-HOBBY exclusive three-piece set with Shothole and Zaptrap.
- This figure was later repurposed as Shattered Glass Bombshell.
