Don't you think there are some resemblance between Devil Z and Beast Megatron spark form when he controlled the Grand Mal? May Devil Z be an abberant spark?

In the world of fan speculation, maybe. For the purposes of this wiki, no. --ItsWalky 19:30, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Devil Z is bigger than a spark, even Megatron's(untill he started eating ppl) and since when were Sparks the Star Child? 69.14.158.214 20:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

It's my impression that Devil-Z was the Destrons' sorta 'guardian angel, with a long (if distant) association with the faction. (I might be getting this dialogue off the Maylay dub though, which tended to do... strange things.)

Is the Maylay dub of MF... official? I know we include some the oddities of the HM dub because it achieved Metrodome release (and because in some cases it actually helps explain inconsistencies.) -Derik20:09, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Uh, yeah. It's official. (Frankly, I don't know anything about the Metrodome releases, other than Steve-o probably has them. My knowledge of them comes from episodes recorded off television or from old laserdiscs, copied from fellow fans.) --ItsWalky 20:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

To add to the officiallyness of the "Star TV" dubs, SUnbow productions are even credited during the end credits and they use the G1 cartoon ending theme, as well. The cast assembled for the "Star TV" dub are also professionals who have worked on many other films, including the English version of Dragonball: the Magic Begins and nearly all the Heisei Godzilla flicks. It's official. Just really *really* bad. --DrSpengler 21:44, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

"President"?

I mean, it's funny and I'm reasonably sure that he/it's actually canonically referred to as that, but... well, for those not used to the batshit ridiculousness of the Japanese shows, maybe a cite is in order there. --M Sipher 16:18, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

The specific title is Yami no Sōtō, which we render on the Emperor of Destruction page as "Fuhrer of Darkness". Sōtō can variously be rendered in English as Fuhrer, President or Generalissimo; we typically use Fuhrer 'round here. Dunno why Devil Z's listed as President... do the MF subs use that translation? --Monzo 16:31, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
Hm. Yyyyyyyyeah, unless he is very SPECIFICALLY referred to as "President", I'm not sure that "well it COULD be rendered this way" translational humor is really appropriate. I'm all for pointing out when a fiction does something inexplicably insane of silly, but if there's a perfectly legit not-so-doofy translation of the title, I think we'd be doing a disservice not to use it instead. There's more than enough perfectly bizarre stuff out there to focus on without us misdirecting up instances. --M Sipher 16:51, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
This ain't a sub thing (he's not referred to by his title at all in the show, actually, which must be some kind of record for a Japanese TF show). - Chris McFeely 22:56, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
