The Joes get an up-close look at life on Megatron's Cybertron when they are captured alongside a group of Autobots.

Flying above the surface of Cybertron aboard the starship Defiant, Scarlett and the Star Brigade drop a bombardment of Doctor Venom's creeper bombs on the city of Iacon, swamping it in rapidly-growing organic matter. The terraforming tactics are observed by Autobots Perceptor, Wheeljack, Brawn, and Mirage, who deduce that the invading humans are unaware that Iacon is an abandoned ruin, and lament the absence of the long-missing Optimus Prime. Perceptor tries to examine some of the creeper material under his scope, but it suddenly begins to grow, forcing Brawn to blast it.
The G.I. Joe team spots a new target: Trypticon, a gigantic, animate city in the form of a dinosaur. Over the objections of Psych Out, who is appalled at their contamination of an alien world with organic life from Earth, they drop a load of creeper bombs on the saurian city, only to find that it is protected by a force field. A fleet of Decepticons led by Cyclonus and Scourge erupt from Trypticon's mouth to pursue the Joes' ship; down below, the four Autobots believe they are the villains' targets since they are out past curfew, but they realize they haven't even been noticed when the Constructicons appear on the road ahead and completely ignore them, merging into Devastator and taking off into the skies. The Defiant splits into its two modules, but Devastator tears into one, sending it falling out of the sky in a blaze. As the Joes bail out, Scarlett lands her RAM on the barrel of Devastator's gun and rides it up his arm and off his shoulder, landing safely in the Tomahawk helicopter—all while delivering a status update to General Flagg. The shuttle section of the Defiant meets a similar fate, and goes up in flames under a barrage of Decepticon fire, but pilot Wild Bill—in defiance of Scarlett's order to abandon ship—steers the flaming craft into Devastator, blowing the gestalt into his components. Joes Breaker, Clutch, Cover Girl and Jinx land their vehicles safely on parachutes and try to "merge with local traffic", unaware that what they think are native vehicles are, in fact, the four Autobots that have been watching the proceedings. This brings the Autobots to the Decepticons' attention, and they activate a trap hidden within the roadway, which begins to close around the fleeing 'bots and Joes. Wheeljack, Mirage and the Joes are able to squeeze through before the rising walls close, but Brawn and Perceptor are captured. The Joes fail to make a getaway, however, as they are snatched up by the bounty-hunting Insecticons.
A short time later, in the throne room within Trypticon, Cyclonus and Scourge present the shackled Brawn and Perceptor to their god-king Megatron... only for a furious Megatron to slay Scourge. Autobots, he angrily proclaims, are a race long defeated and far beneath his notice—it is the invading humans that he wants. As luck would have it, the Insecticons choose this moment to arrive, bringing the objects of Megatron's desire with them. When the Decepticon emperor unwraps Clutch from the bindings the Insecticons have placed him and the other Joes in, the human opens fire on him, prompting cacophonous laughter as the bullets ping off his armor. Suddenly, Optimus Prime himself appears in the middle of the throne room, but when Megatron hurls himself at his ancient enemy, he discovers that it is merely a hologram: Mirage has deceived him and freed the captured 'bots, who now beat a hasty retreat from Trypticon with the Joes in their custody.
Meanwhile, the rest of Scarlett's team sets up base camp in the terraformed Iacon, setting up perimeter traps and using a Weather Dominator to make the region's atmosphere more palatable. As night falls, Scarlett checks in with Snow Job for a status update; he has little to report until suddenly, a figure emerges from the darkness—Wild Bill has survived his kamikaze run on Devastator, but as he collapses in front of his allies, he warns that one of the Transformers has pursued him. Fortunately for the Joes, one of their snares succeeds in trapping their Cybertronian guest: Wheeljack!

"Autobots are ancient history--beneath my notice--a cowed and conquered people born vanquished. The only Autobot that ever mattered left this world when I booted his hide into the void. Don't waste my precious chrono-cycles with petty Autobot sins."
