Big Finish👁 Image
is a British company that produces audio plays, mostly Sci-Fi and licensed from franchises originating in other media. Not to be confused with Grand Finale. Named after Steven Moffat's Press Gang.

Their productions include audios for:

They have also produced audio adaptations of various classic literature including The Phantom of the Opera, Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man, and several wholly original productions including:

  • Acting for Two: You'd be hard pressed to find a Big Finish story, that didn't have at least one actor playing multiple parts.
  • Production Posse: A great number of actors, writers and directors have regularly contributed to several Big Finish productions, despite many of them not being permanent members of the company. Acting wise, two of the most prolific mainstays are Lisa Bowerman, and the late David Warner.
  • Shared Universe:
    • The majority of their audio series take place in the Whoniverse, being that they are all Doctor Who spin-offs, with some unrelated series have a few references to Doctor Who.
    • Big Finish created a loosely connected shared world for their Sherlock Holmes, Dark Shadows and The Confessions of Dorian Gray series. The Confessions series is what mainly connects the three through crossovers and Character Overlap, as Holmes appears in "Ghosts of Christmas Past" and voiced by his Big Finish actor Nicholas Briggs, and Confessions has numerous references to Dark Shadows, with Dorian Gray himself appearing in "The Darkest Shadow" and voiced by his Confessions actor Alexander Vlahos.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • There was nearly a range based off of the cult American sci-fi show Firefly, which never happened either due to money or rights.
    • Had John Hurt not passed away, he was very much prepared to make more stories with Big Finish beyond his signature role as the War Doctor. Playing the title character in The Invisible Man gave us taste of what it could've been.
