On my XPS 15 7590 I need to add ignore_dmi=1 while

$ sudo modprobe dell-smm-hwmon ignore_dmi=1

in order prevent the no such device error on modprobe.

Additionally it is required to install acpi and tcl or i8kmon.service will not start.

For brightness control there is ICC Brightness [1] which controls OLED display brightness by applying ICC color profiles. Jnko (talk) 18:19, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Suggest to use [2] instead of i8k as it way more simpler.

It is easy to create [3] via [mkinitcpio](https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mkinitcpio) and sign with [4]. In this case you could use uefi loader directly without grub and *enable* secure boot back.

For automation you could use PRESET_uki parameter in mkinitcpio.conf. Read more: [5]
