Robo Bonkers is one of the ten battle types in Kirby Battle Royale. The name also refers to the subject of the battle, Robo Bonkers - a giant robot made to resemble the mid-boss Bonkers. Contestants are placed in a looping circular arena, where they must compete to see who can do the most damage to the eponymous mech.
Contestants are locked to a 2D path as they circle around Robo Bonkers. There are auxiliary drop-through platforms in places, and a number of cannons that appear. To attack Robo Bonkers, the contestants must use missiles that appear in boxes on the stage, tossing them into the cannons to fire at the boss. In the second phase, golden missiles can appear which deal 5 times more damage than standard ones. Contestants can also attack each-other, and use their rivals or even themselves as ammunition for the cannons. Meanwhile, Robo Bonkers will be attacking in various ways, most notably using its hammer to slam the floor, turning it into a temporary danger zone or firing a laser beam from its eyes as it spirals around the arena.
Once Robo Bonkers is hit enough times with missiles, it will be stunned, and crash down to one side of the arena, where the contestants can hit it using their normal weapons. In the first phase, when its health bar is completely depleted, the health bar will be fully refilled before the second phase starts. Once Robo Bonkers' second health bar is fully depleted, the game is over, and bonus points are awarded to whoever dealt the finishing blow. Whichever contestant (or team) did the most damage is the winner.
Like with most other battle modes, the contestants have health, and if KO'd will be out of the arena for a short time.
There are three stages (or forms) to Robo Bonkers. They are as follows:

The standard Robo Bonkers bears a purple paint job, and only attacks infrequently using its hammer. It will attempt to pound a contestant (usually the one doing the most damage), and will leave a danger zone in the floor where the hammer strikes.
The fight takes place in two phases, with a separate bar of health for each one. The platforms change position between the phases. Once the next phase begins, Robo Bonkers will use its laser eyes in addition to its hammer. |
