Should we create articles on all the Waddle Dees from Kirby's Epic Yarn? The game itself references them all as different enemies (in Patch Plaza) so shouldn't we follow their example? Kirbyguy1 (Talk | Contribs)

I wouldn't say to create an article for every single type of Waddle Dee from Epic. We didn't do it for other Waddle Dees like big Waddle Dee or fake big Waddle Dee. I think we should just add them to the bottom of the page of this article, like the others. -Rayan

Personally for me, I think more Waddle Dee articles would be nice. There's articles for Spear Waddle Dee, Fluff Waddle Dee, and Gold Waddle Dee, so I guess it wouldn't be too bad to add some for the Epic Yarn Waddle Dees. EleCyon (talk) 04:37, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

"Wanya" sound[edit]

Did Kirby and the Rainbow Curse give Waddle Dees their iconic "wanya" sound? This was the first Kirby game to have Waddle Dees talk.--24.44.76.188 00:55, 3 June 2022 (UTC)

that sound was first in battle royale iirc Smallestguy (talk) 20:32, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

Yes, those two games feature them prominently but the Kirby Brawlball sub-game in Kirby Mass Attack predates even those, even if it's not the easiest to hear there amidst all the sound effects in the heat of the moment. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 21:42, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

Split Cart Waddle Dee[edit]

This Waddle Dee variant appears in Kirby Air Ride and Kirby Air Riders. In both the latter game and the 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia, Cart Waddle Dee is considered a separate character, and since have pages for similar Waddle Dee variants that aren't even considered unique (Raft Waddle Dee), I don't see why this shouldn't be split. - RHVGamer (talk · edits) 17:33, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

If Waddle Dees in cars are separate (KPR), these probably should be, too. Especially with two appearances. By the way, can they ever become regular Waddle Dees? ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 18:01, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Very clearly treated as separate entities, so support. Superbound (talk) 22:16, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Agreed with splitting per reasons said above. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:33, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Agree per all. ---PinkYoshiFan 23:14, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Agreed per all. Also, to ShadowKirby: they can't become "regular" Waddle Dees in either game, no. BB101 (talk) 01:16, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
I agree with all the points stated, they are definitely separate and should be split. At the very least, their names in other languages (as well as others) should be added either here or on a split page.~ Regallgolem ~ (talk · edits) 19:10, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Split Kirby's Epic Yarn variants[edit]

Another split suggestion. Kirby's Epic Yarn has two different Waddle Dee variants that are considered separate in both the Patch Plaza and the 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia, including Bow Waddle Dee and Balloon Waddle Dee. Because of this, and because including this many Yarn Waddle Dees on this page when they aren't even "real" Waddle Dees seems odd, I think these should be split too. - RHVGamer (talk · edits) 17:33, 11 December 2025 (UTC)

Edit: I forgot about two more variants in this game, which are considered separate entities in the encyclopedia but not in the Patch Plaza. These "Block Waddle Dee" (ブロックワドルディ, not to be confused with the identically named Block Waddle Dee from Kirby Mass Attack), a Waddle Dee who throws blocks and primarily appear in Toy Tracks, and "Snowball Waddle Dee" (ユキダマワドルディ). Since these are not considered separate in the Patch Plaza, I'm not sure if these should be split too. - RHVGamer (talk · edits) 17:39, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Full support for the first two, and maybe for the last two. I assume the reason they're not in Patch Plaza is that, until they are brought into action, they are regular Waddle Dees, while afaik even Balloon Waddle Dees with popped balloons will never mingle with ordinary Waddle Dees (I'd need to test that again though). ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 18:01, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Having more pages about Waddle Dees is always a good thing for the wiki and also the world no matter what because they deserve it like have you seen them they're sooo cute. (But seriously, support for all four for reasons already outlined by RHV). Superbound (talk) 22:16, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Not sure if I'm throwing a curveball here, but generally speaking I would like to have the Yarn Waddle Dees in general split from this page. What do you all think of a "Yarn Waddle Dee" page that covers all their variants? For the record, I'm not against splitting even further, but just raising another possibility for consideration. Yarn Waddle Dees in general are separate because they are fakes created by Yin-Yarn, so either way I agree they should be split from here. - Gigi (talkedits) 22:36, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Agree with splitting the variants. As for Yarn Waddle Dee, what about making that a disambiguation page for the KEY variants? ---PinkYoshiFan 23:14, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Not keen on putting variants of yarn Waddle Dees on one single Yarn Waddle Dee page. I don't we do that for any other enemy variant. Superbound (talk) 19:03, 24 December 2025 (UTC)
I agree with splitting the first two, the other two maybe, and as for putting variants on a single page, that wouldn't be unique; the Soldiers and Mariners have pages with variants, and specific ones have their own pages Blast Mariner separate, but are still linked. If we do that for Yarn Waddle Dee, those last two could fit there perfectly.~ Regallgolem ~ (talk · edits) 19:10, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
