Allows to create users with usernames containing Cyrillic characters.
Installation
- Upload
allow-cyrillic-usernamesfolder to the/wp-content/plugins/directory. - Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.

К сожалению плагин требует доработки, в отзывах, например, Кристина, предлагает изменить макс. размер поля в таблице с 50 символов до 200.
Я пошёл другим путём – добавил фильтр на wp_pre_insert_user_data, непосредственно перед внесением пользователя в БД необходимо проверить длину поля $data[‘user_nicename’] если оно больше 50, то либо обрезать его до 50 символов, либо заменить на логин\транслитерацию логина\что угодно =)
