Always-on applications rely on automatic failover capabilities and real-time access to data. CData Sync for Adobe Analytics integrates live Adobe Analytics data into your mirrored databases, always-on cloud databases, and other databases such as your reporting server: Automatically synchronize with remote Adobe Analytics data from Windows or any machine running Java.
You can use Sync's command-line interface (CLI) to easily control almost all aspects of the replication. You can use the CLI to replicate Adobe Analytics data to one or many databases without any need to change your configuration.
You can save connection strings and other settings like email notifications in XML configuration files.
The following example shows how to replicate to SQLite.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <CDataSync><DatabaseType>SQLite</DatabaseType> <DatabaseProvider>System.Data.SQLite</DatabaseProvider> <ConnectionString>GlobalCompanyId=myGlobalCompanyId; RSID=myRSID; OAuthClientId=myOauthClientId; OauthClientSecret=myOAuthClientSecret; CallbackURL=myCallbackURL;</ConnectionString> <ReplicateAll>False</ReplicateAll> <NotificationUserName></NotificationUserName> <DatabaseConnectionString>Data Source=C:\my.db</DatabaseConnectionString> <TaskSchedulerStartTime>09:51</TaskSchedulerStartTime> <TaskSchedulerInterval>Never</TaskSchedulerInterval> </CDataSync>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <CDataSync><DatabaseType>SQLite</DatabaseType><DatabaseProvider>org.sqlite.JDBC</DatabaseProvider> <ConnectionString>GlobalCompanyId=myGlobalCompanyId; RSID=myRSID; OAuthClientId=myOauthClientId; OauthClientSecret=myOAuthClientSecret; CallbackURL=myCallbackURL;</ConnectionString> <ReplicateAll>False</ReplicateAll> <NotificationUserName></NotificationUserName> <DatabaseConnectionString>Data Source=C:\my.db</DatabaseConnectionString> </CDataSync>
Adobe Analytics uses the OAuth authentication standard. To authenticate using OAuth, create an app to obtain the OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL connection properties. See the "Getting Started" section of the help documentation for a guide.
GlobalCompanyId is a required connection property. If you do not know your Global Company ID, you can find it in the request URL for the users/me endpoint on the Swagger UI. After logging into the Swagger UI Url, expand the users endpoint and then click the GET users/me button. Click the Try it out and Execute buttons. Note your Global Company ID shown in the Request URL immediately preceding the users/me endpoint.
Report Suite ID (RSID) is also a required connection property. In the Adobe Analytics UI, navigate to Admin -> Report Suites and you will get a list of your report suites along with their identifiers next to the name.
After setting the GlobalCompanyId, RSID and OAuth connection properties, you are ready to connect to Adobe Analytics.
Sync enables you to control replication with standard SQL. The REPLICATE statement is a high-level command that caches and maintains a table in your database. You can define any SELECT query supported by the Adobe Analytics API. The statement below caches and incrementally updates a table of Adobe Analytics data:
REPLICATE AdsReport;
You can specify a file containing the replication queries. This enables you to use the same replication queries to replicate to several databases.
After you have configured the connection strings and replication queries, you can run Sync with the following command-line options:
AdobeAnalyticsSync.exe -g MySQLiteConfig.xml -f AdobeAnalyticsSync.sql
java -Xbootclasspath/p:c:\sqlitejdbc.jar -jar AdobeAnalyticsSync.jar -g MySQLiteConfig.xml -f AdobeAnalyticsSync.sql
