Apache OpenOffice Base is a versatile, free database tool that makes connecting and managing data easy. With CData ODBC Driver for Adobe Commerce, you can seamlessly integrate and query live Adobe Commerce data, bringing real-time insights directly into OpenOffice.
This guide simplifies the setup, showing you how to connect Adobe Commerce to OpenOffice Base so you can easily generate reports, analyze trends, and make informed decisions right within your familiar workspace.
Here is an overview of the steps:
To start, configure the DSN (Data Source Name) for Adobe Commerce data in your system using the CData ODBC Driver for Adobe Commerce. Download and install a 30-day free trial with all the features from here.
Once installed, launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator:
Once launched, double-click on the CData Adobe Commerce data Source and enter the required values to establish a connection:
Adobe Commerce uses the OAuth 1 authentication standard. To connect to the Adobe Commerce REST API, obtain values for the OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL connection properties by registering an app with your Adobe Commerce system. See the "Getting Started" section in the help documentation for a guide to obtaining the OAuth values and connecting.
You will also need to provide the URL to your Adobe Commerce system. The URL depends on whether you are using the Adobe Commerce REST API as a customer or administrator.
Customer: To use Adobe Commerce as a customer, make sure you have created a customer account in the Adobe Commerce homepage. To do so, click Account -> Register. You can then set the URL connection property to the endpoint of your Adobe Commerce system.
Administrator: To access Adobe Commerce as an administrator, set CustomAdminPath instead. This value can be obtained in the Advanced settings in the Admin menu, which can be accessed by selecting System -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Admin -> Admin Base URL.
If the Use Custom Admin Path setting on this page is set to YES, the value is inside the Custom Admin Path text box; otherwise, set the CustomAdminPath connection property to the default value, which is "admin".
Once you've set up the DSN, it's time to connect to it in OpenOffice Base and start querying data:
Your connection is now established β ready to query and analyze data seamlessly within OpenOffice Base.
After the database file is created and the connection is established, the table list will automatically display all available Adobe Commerce data objects.
That's it! You have now successfully established a connection to Adobe Commerce data in OpenOffice Base, with data readily available for analysis and reporting.
Now, let's generate a report based on your Adobe Commerce data data.
Your report is now created, drawing live data directly from Adobe Commerce data, and ready for analysis.
