Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way businesses use data to solve problems. When paired with the CData Tableau Connector for Azure, you can easily get access to live Azure Table data within Tableau. This article shows how to connect to Azure Table in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live Azure Table data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with Azure Table and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing Azure Table data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to Azure Table data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver. If you wish to connect to Azure Table data in Tableau Cloud, you will need to use CData Connect AI.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "Azure Table by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
Specify your AccessKey and your Account to connect. Set the Account property to the Storage Account Name and set AccessKey to one of the Access Keys. Either the Primary or Secondary Access Keys can be used. To obtain these values, navigate to the Storage Accounts blade in the Azure portal. You can obtain the access key by selecting your account and clicking Access Keys in the Settings section.
