Reveal, an offering from Infragistics, serves as a data visualization tool that seamlessly integrates with CData Connect AI. Together, they empower users to deliver dynamic dashboards using real-time data from a diverse range of data sources, including Azure Analysis Services data. In this article, we will guide you through the process of connecting to Azure Analysis Services via Connect AI and subsequently linking Connect AI with Infragistics Reveal to construct a straightforward dashboard.
To work with live Azure Analysis Services data in Infragistics Reveal, we need to connect to Azure Analysis Services from Connect AI, provide user access to the connection, and create a Workspace for the Azure Analysis Services data.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
To connect to Azure Analysis Services, set the Url property to a valid server, for instance, asazure://southcentralus.asazure.windows.net/server, in addition to authenticating. Optionally, set Database to distinguish which Azure database on the server to connect to.
Azure Analysis Services uses the OAuth authentication standard. OAuth requires the authenticating user to interact with Azure Analysis Services using the browser. You can connect without setting any connection properties for your user credentials. See the Help documentation for more information.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
After connecting to Azure Analysis Services, create a workspace for your desired table(s).
With the connection, PAT, and Workspace configured, you are ready to connect to Azure Analysis Services data from Infragistics Reveal.
With Connect AI configured, we can visualize Azure Analysis Services data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live Azure Analysis Services data.
