Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live Basecamp data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for Basecamp, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to Basecamp in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
Basecamp uses basic or OAuth 2.0 authentication. To use basic authentication you will need the user and password that you use for logging in to Basecamp. To authenticate to Basecamp via OAuth 2.0, obtain the OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL connection properties by registering an app with Basecamp.
See the Getting Started section in the help documentation for a connection guide.
Additionally, specify the AccountId connection property. This can be copied from the URL after you log in.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown). After connecting to Basecamp, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for Basecamp data.

When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
π Configuring CORS settingsWith the API Server configured, we can visualize Basecamp data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live Basecamp data. For more information on creating OData feeds from Basecamp (and more than 150 other sources), visit the API Server page. Download a free, 30-day trial and start working live Basecamp data in tools that consume OData APIs.
