Embarcadero RAD Studio provides a development environment for Delphi and C++Builder applications. With the CData ODBC Driver for Basecamp, you gain access to live Basecamp data within RAD Studio, abstracting the data into tables, views, and stored procedures that can be used to both retrieve and update Basecamp data. This article will walk through connecting to Basecamp using the Data Explorer.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
Basecamp uses basic or OAuth 2.0 authentication. To use basic authentication you will need the user and password that you use for logging in to Basecamp. To authenticate to Basecamp via OAuth 2.0, obtain the OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and CallbackURL connection properties by registering an app with Basecamp.
See the Getting Started section in the help documentation for a connection guide.
Additionally, specify the AccountId connection property. This can be copied from the URL after you log in.
You can create a simple application for displaying Basecamp data by utilizing the CData FireDAC Components for Basecamp and a new VCL Forms Application:
Create a new VCL Forms application and drag a table (for example: Projects) onto the form.
๐ Placing the Table on the Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Right-click on the object, bind visually, and link everything (*) to a new control (TStringGrid).
๐ Visually Binding the Table. (Salesforce is shown.)Arrange the TStringGrid on the form and run the application to see the Projects data.
๐ The Table data on a Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Below you can find other articles for using the CData ODBC Driver with RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++ Builder.

๐ Basecamp IconThe Basecamp ODBC Driver is a powerful tool that allows you to connect with live Basecamp data, directly from any applications that support ODBC connectivity.
Access Basecamp like you would a database - read, write, and update Projects, People, Documents, Messages, etc. through a standard ODBC Driver interface.
