Coginiti Pro is a single tool for all your SQL data and analytics needs, designed specifically for data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. When paired with the CData JDBC Driver for Google BigQuery, Coginiti Pro can access and query live BigQuery data. This article describes how to connect to and query BigQuery data from Coginiti Pro.
With built-in optimized data processing, the CData JDBC Driver for Google BigQuery offers unmatched performance for interacting with live BigQuery data. When you issue complex SQL queries to BigQuery, the driver pushes supported SQL operations, like filters and aggregations, directly to BigQuery and utilizes the embedded SQL engine to process unsupported operations client-side (often SQL functions and JOIN operations). In addition, its built-in dynamic metadata querying allows you to work with and analyze BigQuery data using native data types.
CData simplifies access and integration of live Google BigQuery data. Our customers leverage CData connectivity to:
Most CData customers are using Google BigQuery as their data warehouse and so use CData solutions to migrate business data from separate sources into BigQuery for comprehensive analytics. Other customers use our connectivity to analyze and report on their Google BigQuery data, with many customers using both solutions.

Download the CData JDBC Driver for Google BigQuery installer, unzip the package, and run the JAR file to install the driver. Then gather the required connection properties.
Google uses the OAuth authentication standard. To access Google APIs on behalf of individual users, you can use the embedded credentials or you can register your own OAuth app.
OAuth also enables you to use a service account to connect on behalf of users in a Google Apps domain. To authenticate with a service account, register an application to obtain the OAuth JWT values.
In addition to the OAuth values, specify the DatasetId and ProjectId. See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for a guide to using OAuth.
NOTE: To use the JDBC driver in Coginiti Pro, you may need a license (full or trial) and a Runtime Key (RTK). For more information on obtaining this license (or a trial), contact our sales team.
For assistance constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the BigQuery JDBC Driver. Double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.googlebigquery.jarπ Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Salesforce is shown.)
Fill in the connection properties (including the RTK) and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
In the "JDBC Drivers" wizard, set the driver properties (below) and click "Create Driver."
Once the query console is open, write the SQL script you wish to execute and click "Run at Cursor".
NOTE: You can use the explorer on the left to determine table/view names and column names.
