Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live Bright Data data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for Bright Data, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to Bright Data in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
To use the Bright Data API, you need an API key from the Bright Data Control Panel. Navigate to Account Settings > API to generate or retrieve your API key.
After setting the following connection properties, you are ready to connect:
Profile=C:\profiles\BrightData.apip;AuthScheme=APIKey;ProfileSettings="APIKey=your_api_key"π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown).
After connecting to Bright Data, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for Bright Data data.
Create a User to connect to Bright Data from Reveal through API Server.
When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
π Configuring CORS settingsWith the API Server configured, we can visualize Bright Data data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live Bright Data data.
