How to Connect to Live Bullhorn CRM Data in Mistral AI Workflows and Agents (via CData Connect AI)

Prerequisites

Step 1: Configure Bullhorn CRM Connectivity for Mistral

Connectivity to Bullhorn CRM from Mistral AI is made possible through CData Connect AI Remote MCP. To interact with Bullhorn CRM data from Mistral, we start by creating and configuring a Bullhorn CRM connection in CData Connect AI.

1. Log into Connect AI, click Sources, and then click Add Connection.

2. Select "Bullhorn CRM" from the Add Connection panel.

3. Enter the necessary authentication properties to connect to Bullhorn CRM.

   Begin by providing your Bullhorn CRM account credentials in the following:

   • DataCenterCode: Set this to the data center code which responds to your data center. Refer to the list of data-center-specific Bullhorn API URLs: https://bullhorn.github.io/Data-Center-URLs/

   If you are uncertain about your data center code, codes like CLS2, CLS21, etc. are cluster IDs that are contained in a user's browser URL (address bar) once they are logged in.

   Example: https://cls21.bullhornstaffing.com/BullhornSTAFFING/MainFrame.jsp?#no-ba... indicates that the logged in user is on CLS21.

   Authenticating with OAuth

   Bullhorn CRM uses the OAuth 2.0 authentication standard. To authenticate using OAuth, create and configure a custom OAuth app. See the Help documentation for more information.

4. Click Save & Test.

Add a Personal Access Token

A Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI from Mistral AI. It is a best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain fine-grained access control.

1. Click on the gear icon () at the top right of the Connect AI app to open the Settings page.
2. On the Settings page, go to the Access Tokens section and click Create PAT.
3. Give the PAT a descriptive name and click Create. 👁 Creating a new PAT
   
4. Note: The PAT is only visible at creation, so be sure to copy and store it securely for future use.

With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Bullhorn CRM data from Mistral AI workflows.

Step 2: Configure the MCP Connector in Mistral Le Chat

With your Bullhorn CRM connection and PAT created in CData Connect AI, the next step is to configure a custom MCP connector inside Mistral Le Chat.

2. From the left-hand menu, click on Intelligence, then select Connectors. Click Add Connector. 👁 Adding a new connector
   
3. In the dialog, select Custom MCP Connector and enter the following details:
   • Connector Name: For example, CData_Remote_MCP.
   • Connector Server: https://mcp.cloud.cdata.com/mcp (found in the "Connect Data to AI" ribbon in Connect AI).
   • Authentication Method: API Token Authentication.
   • Header Name: Authorization.
   • Header Value: Basic [email protected]:YourPAT (replace "[email protected]" with your CData Connect AI email and "YourPAT" with the PAT created earlier in above format).

4. Click Connect to establish the connection.

This step ensures that Mistral Le Chat can securely route queries through the CData Remote MCP Server to your live Bullhorn CRM data.

Step 3: Query Live Bullhorn CRM Data from Mistral AI

Now that your MCP connector is configured in Le Chat, you can begin querying live Bullhorn CRM data directly in your conversations.

1. In Le Chat, click on Chats in the left menu to start a new chat.
