This article demonstrates using the CData ADO.NET Provider for Certinia in PowerBuilder, showcasing the ease of use and compatibility of these standards-based controls across various platforms and development technologies that support Microsoft .NET, including Appeon PowerBuilder.
This article shows how to create a basic PowerBuilder application that uses the CData ADO.NET Provider for Certinia to perform reads and writes.
User=myUser;Password=myPassword;Security Token=myToken;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;
There are several authentication methods available for connecting to Certinia: login credentials, SSO, and OAuth.
Set the User and Password to your login credentials. Additionally, set the SecurityToken. By default, the SecurityToken is required, but you can make it optional by allowing a range of trusted IP addresses.
To disable the security token:
To obtain the security token:
If you do not have access to the user name and password or do not want to require them, use the OAuth user consent flow. See the OAuth section in the Help for an authentication guide.
Set UseSandbox to true (false by default) to use a Certinia sandbox account. Ensure that you specify a sandbox user name in User.
<DataGrid AutoGenerateColumns="False" Margin="13,249,12,14" Name="datagrid1" TabIndex="70" ItemsSource="{Binding}">
<DataGrid.Columns>
<DataGridTextColumn x:Name="idColumn" Binding="{Binding Path=Id}" Header="Id" Width="SizeToHeader" />
<DataGridTextColumn x:Name="nameColumn" Binding="{Binding Path=BillingState}" Header="BillingState" Width="SizeToHeader" />
...
</DataGrid.Columns>
</DataGrid>
Once the visual elements have been configured, you can use standard ADO.NET objects like Connection, Command, and DataAdapter to populate a DataTable with the results of an SQL query:
System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaConnection conn conn = create System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaConnection(connectionString) System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaCommand comm comm = create System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaCommand(command, conn) System.Data.DataTable table table = create System.Data.DataTable System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaDataAdapter dataAdapter dataAdapter = create System.Data.CData.Certinia.CertiniaDataAdapter(comm) dataAdapter.Fill(table) datagrid1.ItemsSource=table.DefaultView
The code above can be used to bind data from the specified query to the DataGrid.
