Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live CloudConvert data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for CloudConvert, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to CloudConvert in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
CloudConvert uses API key authentication. Your CloudConvert API key is used to authenticate requests as a Bearer token. You can generate or view your keys at https://cloudconvert.com/dashboard/api/v2/keys.
After setting the following connection properties, you are ready to connect:
Profile=C:\profiles\CloudConvert.apip;AuthScheme=APIKey;ProfileSettings="APIKey=your_api_key";π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown).
After connecting to CloudConvert, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for CloudConvert data.
Create a User to connect to CloudConvert from Reveal through API Server.
When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
π Configuring CORS settingsWith the API Server configured, we can visualize CloudConvert data in Reveal.
At this point, you have created a simple dashboard from live CloudConvert data.
