Always-on applications rely on automatic failover capabilities and real-time access to data. CData Sync for Dynamics 365 Business Central integrates live Dynamics 365 Business Central data into your mirrored databases, always-on cloud databases, and other databases such as your reporting server: Automatically synchronize with remote Dynamics 365 Business Central data from Windows or any machine running Java.
You can use Sync's command-line interface (CLI) to easily control almost all aspects of the replication. You can use the CLI to replicate Dynamics 365 Business Central data to one or many databases without any need to change your configuration.
You can save connection strings and other settings like email notifications in XML configuration files.
The following example shows how to replicate to SQLite.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <CDataSync><DatabaseType>SQLite</DatabaseType> <DatabaseProvider>System.Data.SQLite</DatabaseProvider> <ConnectionString>OrganizationUrl=https://myaccount.financials.dynamics.com/;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;</ConnectionString> <ReplicateAll>False</ReplicateAll> <NotificationUserName></NotificationUserName> <DatabaseConnectionString>Data Source=C:\my.db</DatabaseConnectionString> <TaskSchedulerStartTime>09:51</TaskSchedulerStartTime> <TaskSchedulerInterval>Never</TaskSchedulerInterval> </CDataSync>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <CDataSync><DatabaseType>SQLite</DatabaseType><DatabaseProvider>org.sqlite.JDBC</DatabaseProvider> <ConnectionString>OrganizationUrl=https://myaccount.financials.dynamics.com/;InitiateOAuth=GETANDREFRESH;</ConnectionString> <ReplicateAll>False</ReplicateAll> <NotificationUserName></NotificationUserName> <DatabaseConnectionString>Data Source=C:\my.db</DatabaseConnectionString> </CDataSync>
To authenticate to Dynamics 365 Business Central, you must select an AuthScheme and provide the required properties (OAuth by default).
Specify the . If you have multiple companies in your organization, you must also specify the to indicate which company you would like to connect to. does not need to be specified if you have only one company.
To authenticate with an Access Key, set AuthScheme to "AccessKey" and provide the and properties.
To obtain the and values, navigate to the Users page in Dynamics 365 Business Central and then click on Edit. The User Name and Web Service Access Key values are what you will enter as the and connection string properties. Note that the User Name is not your email address. It is a shortened user name.
If you wish to authenticate through other methods, refer to the Help documentation.
Sync enables you to control replication with standard SQL. The REPLICATE statement is a high-level command that caches and maintains a table in your database. You can define any SELECT query supported by the Dynamics 365 Business Central API. The statement below caches and incrementally updates a table of Dynamics 365 Business Central data:
REPLICATE Accounts;
You can specify a file containing the replication queries. This enables you to use the same replication queries to replicate to several databases.
After you have configured the connection strings and replication queries, you can run Sync with the following command-line options:
D365BusinessCentralSync.exe -g MySQLiteConfig.xml -f D365BusinessCentralSync.sql
java -Xbootclasspath/p:c:\sqlitejdbc.jar -jar D365BusinessCentralSync.jar -g MySQLiteConfig.xml -f D365BusinessCentralSync.sql
