The CData ODBC Driver for HCL Domino can be used from any platform or development technology that supports ODBC, including PowerBuilder. This article shows how to connect to HCL Domino data and execute queries from the Database Painter and controls such as the DataWindow.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
To connect to Domino data, set the following properties:

The driver uses the login credentials to automatically perform an OAuth token exchange.
This authentication method uses Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) as an IdP to obtain a JWT token. You need to create a custom OAuth application in Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and configure it as an IdP. To do so, follow the instructions in the Help documentation. Then set the following properties:
The tenant ID is the same as the directory ID shown in the Azure Portal's Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) > Properties page.
Follow the steps below to use the Database Painter tool to create a database profile based on an ODBC DSN (data source name) for HCL Domino. In the Database Painter, you can use wizards and the UI to work with HCL Domino data.
You can use standard PowerBuilder objects to connect to ODBC data sources and execute queries. The following example shows how to retrieve HCL Domino data into a DataWindow. You can add the following code to the open method:
