The CData JDBC driver for Google Campaign Manager 360 is easy to integrate with Java Web applications. This article shows how to efficiently connect to Google Campaign Manager 360 data in Jetty by configuring the driver for connection pooling. You will configure a JNDI resource for Google Campaign Manager 360 in Jetty.
Follow the steps below to connect to Salesforce from Jetty.
Enable the JNDI module for your Jetty base. The following command enables JNDI from the command-line:
java -jar ../start.jar --add-to-startd=jndi
Declare the resource and its scope. Enter the required connection properties in the resource declaration. This example declares the Google Campaign Manager 360 data source at the level of the Web app, in WEB-INF\jetty-env.xml.
<Configure id='doubleclickdemo' class="org.eclipse.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <New id="doubleclickdemo" class="org.eclipse.jetty.plus.jndi.Resource"> <Arg><Ref refid="doubleclickdemo"/></Arg> <Arg>jdbc/doubleclickdb</Arg> <Arg> <New class="cdata.jdbc.googlecm.GoogleCMDriver"> <Set name="url">jdbc:googlecm:</Set> <Set name="UserProfileID">MyUserProfileID</Set> <Set name="InitiateOAuth">GETANDREFRESH</Set> </New> </Arg> </New> </Configure>
Google Campaign Manager uses the OAuth authentication standard. The data provider facilitates OAuth in various ways as described below. The following OAuth flow requires the authenticating user to interact with DoubleClick Campaign Manager, using the browser. You can also use a service account to authenticate.
For authentication guides, see the Getting Started section of the data provider help documentation.
Configure the resource in the Web.xml:
jdbc/doubleclickdb javax.sql.DataSource Container
You can then access Google Campaign Manager 360 with a lookup to java:comp/env/jdbc/doubleclickdb:
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource mydoubleclick = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/doubleclickdb");
The steps above show how to configure the driver in a simple connection pooling scenario. For more use cases and information, see the Working with Jetty JNDI chapter in the Jetty documentation.
