Gumloop is a visual automation platform designed to create AI-powered workflows by combining triggers, AI nodes, APIs, and data connectors. This article outlines the steps required to configure Dynamics 365 connectivity in Connect AI, register the MCP server in Gumloop, and build a workflow that queries Dynamics 365 data.

CData customers use our Dynamics 365 connectivity solutions for a variety of reasons, whether they're looking to replicate their data into a data warehouse (alongside other data sources) or analyze live Dynamics 365 data from their preferred data tools inside the Microsoft ecosystem (Power BI, Excel, etc.) or with external tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.).
Connectivity to Dynamics 365 from Gumloop is made possible through CData Connect AI's Remote MCP Server. To interact with Dynamics 365 data from Gumloop, we start by creating and configuring a Dynamics 365 connection in CData Connect AI.
Edition and OrganizationUrl are required connection properties. The Dynamics 365 connector supports connecting to the following editions: CustomerService, FieldService, FinOpsOnline, FinOpsOnPremise, HumanResources, Marketing, ProjectOperations and Sales.
For Dynamics 365 Business Central, use the separate Dynamics 365 Business Central driver.
OrganizationUrl is the URL to your Dynamics 365 organization. For instance, https://orgcb42e1d0.crm.dynamics.com
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)A Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI from Gumloop. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the Dynamics 365 connection configured and a PAT generated, Gumloop is prepared to connect to Dynamics 365 data through the CData MCP server.
The MCP server endpoint and authentication values from Connect AI must be added to Gumloop credentials.
The MCP server is now available to build workflows in Gumloop.
With the workflow run completed, Gumloop demonstrates successful retrieval of Dynamics 365 data through the CData Connect AI MCP server, with the MCP Client node providing the ability to ask questions, retrieve records, and perform actions on the data.
