Connect to Dynamics CRM from wizards and query Dynamics CRM data from the GUI in the RazorSQL database management tool.

The CData JDBC Driver for Dynamics CRM enables standards-based access from third-party tools, from wizards in IDEs to data management and analysis tools. This article shows how to connect to Dynamics CRM using wizards in RazorSQL.

About Dynamics CRM Data Integration

Getting Started


Create a JDBC Data Source for Dynamics CRM Data

  1. Open the RazorSQL application and, in the Connections menu, select Add Connection Profile -> Other -> JDBC.
  2. In the Connection Wizard that appears, set the following properties:
    • Driver Location: Set this property to the path to the lib subfolder in the installation directory.
    • Driver Class: Set the driver class to cdata.jdbc.dynamicscrm.DynamicsCRMDriver.
    • Username: Enter the username. (This property can also be set in the JDBC URL.)
    • Password: Enter the password. (This property can also be set in the JDBC URL.)

    • JDBC URL: Enter connection parameters. The JDBC URL begins with jdbc:dynamicscrm: and is followed by a semicolon-separated list of connection properties.

      The connection string options meet the authentication and connection requirements of different Dynamics CRM instances. To connect to your instance, set the User and Password properties, under the Authentication section, to valid Dynamics CRM user credentials and set the Url to a valid Dynamics CRM server organization root. Additionally, set the CRMVersion property to 'CRM2011+' or 'CRMOnline'. IFD configurations are supported as well; set InternetFacingDeployment to true.

      Additionally, you can provide the security token service (STS) or AD FS endpoint in the STSURL property. This value can be retrieved with the GetSTSUrl stored procedure. Office 365 users can connect to the default STS URL by simply setting CRMVersion.

      Built-in Connection String Designer

      For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the Dynamics CRM JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.

      Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.

      A typical JDBC URL is the following:

      jdbc:dynamicscrm:User=myuseraccount;Password=mypassword;URL=https://myOrg.crm.dynamics.com/;CRM Version=CRM Online;

Query Dynamics CRM Data and Select Tables

After establishing a connection, the wizard will close and the connection will be available in the connections panel. You can then query the tables.
