When paired with CData Connect AI, you get access to Amazon DynamoDB data for visualizations, dashboards, and more. This article shows how to connect to Amazon DynamoDB in CData Connect AI, publish a dataset from Power BI Desktop to the Power BI Service and then create reports on Amazon DynamoDB data in the Power BI service.
Connectivity to Amazon DynamoDB from Power BI Service is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Amazon DynamoDB data from Power BI Service, we start by creating and configuring a Amazon DynamoDB connection.
The connection to Amazon DynamoDB is made using your AccessKey, SecretKey, and optionally your Domain and Region. Your AccessKey and SecretKey can be obtained on the security credentials page for your Amazon Web Services account. Your Region will be displayed in the upper left-hand corner when you are logged into DynamoDB.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)With the connection configured, you are ready to connect to Amazon DynamoDB data from the Power BI service.
Once you connect to Amazon DynamoDB in Connect AI, you can create a dataset in Power BI desktop and publish the dataset to the Power BI service.
Now that you have published a dataset to the Power BI service, you can create new reports and dashboards based on the published data:
Now you have a direct connection to live Amazon DynamoDB data from the Power BI service. You can create more data sources and new visualizations, build reports, and more β all without replicating Amazon DynamoDB data.
