Reveal is a data visualization solution provided by Infragistics and can be paired with the CData API Server to build dynamic dashboards from live Amazon DynamoDB data. The CData API Server generates an OData API for Amazon DynamoDB, which is natively consumable in Reveal. In this article, we walk through connecting to Amazon DynamoDB in API Server and connecting to the API Server from Infragistics Reveal to create a simple dashboard.
CData API Server uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources and generate APIs.
The connection to Amazon DynamoDB is made using your AccessKey, SecretKey, and optionally your Domain and Region. Your AccessKey and SecretKey can be obtained on the security credentials page for your Amazon Web Services account. Your Region will be displayed in the upper left-hand corner when you are logged into DynamoDB.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown). After connecting to Amazon DynamoDB, create Resources, which represent API endpoints for Amazon DynamoDB data.
Create a User to connect to Amazon DynamoDB from Reveal through API Server.
When accessing and connecting to multiple different domains from an application such as Ajax, there is a possibility of violating the limitations of cross-site scripting. In that case, configure the CORS settings in Settings -> Server.
Save the changes to the settings.
