Tableau is a visual analytics platform transforming the way businesses use data to solve problems. This article shows how to connect to Amazon DynamoDB in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live Amazon DynamoDB data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with Amazon DynamoDB and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing Amazon DynamoDB data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to Amazon DynamoDB data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver. If you wish to connect to Amazon DynamoDB data in Tableau Cloud, you will need to use CData Connect AI.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "Amazon DynamoDB by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
The connection to Amazon DynamoDB is made using your AccessKey, SecretKey, and optionally your Domain and Region. Your AccessKey and SecretKey can be obtained on the security credentials page for your Amazon Web Services account. Your Region will be displayed in the upper left-hand corner when you are logged into DynamoDB.
