OutSystems is a low-code platform which provides the tools for companies to developer, deploy, and manage omnichannel enterprise applications. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to eBay data for business applications. This article shows how to create a virtual database for eBay in Connect AI and build a simple app from eBay data in OutSystems.
The CData Connect AI provides a pure cloud-to-cloud interface for eBay, allowing you to build reports from live eBay data in OutSystems β without replicating the data to a natively supported database. As you create applications to work with data, OutSystems generates SQL queries to gather data. Using optimized data processing out of the box, CData Connect AI pushes all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc.) directly to eBay, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return the requested eBay data.
Connectivity to eBay from OutSystems is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with eBay data from OutSystems, we start by creating and configuring a eBay connection.
If you will be accessing your own account, you can generate an OAuthAccessToken from your developer account dashboard. You can also allow other users to securely access their own accounts.
Both of these methods require you to create an application key set to obtain values for the following connection properties: AppId, CertId, DevId, and SiteId.
The user consent flow additionally requires the RuName and CallbackURL.
See the "Getting Started" chapter in the help documentation for a guide to using OAuth.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to eBay data from OutSystems.
The steps below outline connecting to CData Connect AI from OutSystems to create a new eBay database connection.
Once you create the database connection for eBay, you can create an extension that maps the tables or views to OutSystems entities. If you have not already done so, create an Application in Service Studio.
At this point, you can access and work with eBay data just like you would with the standard OutSystems entities.
