The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live Egnyte data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with Egnyte and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing Egnyte data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to Egnyte data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "Egnyte by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
Start by setting the Profile connection property to the location of the Egnyte Profile on disk (e.g. C:\profiles\Egnyte.apip). Next, set the ProfileSettings connection property to the connection string for Egnyte (see below).
Register a developer account with Egnyte and create an OAuth application to receive a Client ID and Secret. Your domain is extracted from your Egnyte URL.
