Apache OpenOffice Base is a versatile, free database tool that makes connecting and managing data easy. With CData ODBC Driver for Elasticsearch, you can seamlessly integrate and query live Elasticsearch data, bringing real-time insights directly into OpenOffice.
This guide simplifies the setup, showing you how to connect Elasticsearch to OpenOffice Base so you can easily generate reports, analyze trends, and make informed decisions right within your familiar workspace.
Accessing and integrating live data from Elasticsearch has never been easier with CData. Customers rely on CData connectivity to:
Users frequently integrate Elasticsearch data with analytics tools such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, and Excel, and leverage our tools to enable a single, federated access layer to all of their data sources, including Elasticsearch.

Here is an overview of the steps:
To start, configure the DSN (Data Source Name) for Elasticsearch data in your system using the CData ODBC Driver for Elasticsearch. Download and install a 30-day free trial with all the features from here.
Once installed, launch the ODBC Data Source Administrator:
Once launched, double-click on the CData Elasticsearch data Source and enter the required values to establish a connection:
Set the Server and Port connection properties to connect. To authenticate, set the User and Password properties, PKI (public key infrastructure) properties, or both. To use PKI, set the SSLClientCert, SSLClientCertType, SSLClientCertSubject, and SSLClientCertPassword properties.
The data provider uses X-Pack Security for TLS/SSL and authentication. To connect over TLS/SSL, prefix the Server value with 'https://'. Note: TLS/SSL and client authentication must be enabled on X-Pack to use PKI.
Once the data provider is connected, X-Pack will then perform user authentication and grant role permissions based on the realms you have configured.
π Configuring a DSN (Salesforce is shown)Once you've set up the DSN, it's time to connect to it in OpenOffice Base and start querying data:
Your connection is now established β ready to query and analyze data seamlessly within OpenOffice Base.
After the database file is created and the connection is established, the table list will automatically display all available Elasticsearch data objects.
That's it! You have now successfully established a connection to Elasticsearch data in OpenOffice Base, with data readily available for analysis and reporting.
Now, let's generate a report based on your Elasticsearch data data.
Your report is now created, drawing live data directly from Elasticsearch data, and ready for analysis.
