This article shows how to connect to Oracle Eloqua in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live Oracle Eloqua data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with Oracle Eloqua and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing Oracle Eloqua data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to Oracle Eloqua data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver. If you wish to connect to Oracle Eloqua data in Tableau Cloud, you will need to use CData Connect AI.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "Oracle Eloqua by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
There are two authentication methods available for connecting to Oracle Eloqua: Login and OAuth. The Login method requires you to have the Company, User, and Password of the user.
If you do not have access to the username and password or do not wish to require them, you can use OAuth authentication. OAuth is better suited for allowing other users to access their own data. Using login credentials is better suited for accessing your own data.
