Embarcadero RAD Studio provides a development environment for Delphi and C++Builder applications. With the CData ODBC Driver for Gong, you gain access to live Gong data within RAD Studio, abstracting the data into tables, views, and stored procedures that can be used to both retrieve Gong data. This article will walk through connecting to Gong using the Data Explorer.
If you have not already, first specify connection properties in an ODBC DSN (data source name). This is the last step of the driver installation. You can use the Microsoft ODBC Data Source Administrator to create and configure ODBC DSNs.
To authenticate to Gong, you can use API Key authentication with your Gong API Key and API Secret.
To authenticate to Gong, you must provide your Gong API Key and API Secret, along with your tenant Domain. These credentials are combined and Base64-encoded to form the Basic authentication header used for all API requests.
To authenticate using an API Key, you need to obtain your API Key and API Secret from your Gong account settings.
You can then connect by setting the AuthScheme to APIKey and providing your credentials:
Profile=C:\profiles\Gong.apip;AuthScheme=APIKey;ProfileSettings='APIKey=your_api_key;APISecret=your_api_secret;Domain=your-tenant.api.gong.io';
You can create a simple application for displaying Gong data by utilizing the CData FireDAC Components for Gong and a new VCL Forms Application:
Create a new VCL Forms application and drag a view (for example: AnsweredScorecards) onto the form.
๐ Placing the View on the Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Right-click on the object, bind visually, and link everything (*) to a new control (TStringGrid).
๐ Visually Binding the View. (Salesforce is shown.)Arrange the TStringGrid on the form and run the application to see the AnsweredScorecards data.
๐ The View data on a Form. (Salesforce is shown.)Below you can find other articles for using the CData ODBC Driver with RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++ Builder.
