This article shows how to connect to Google Contacts in Tableau and build a simple chart.
The CData Tableau Connectors enable high-speed access to live Google Contacts data in Tableau. Once you install the connector, you simply authenticate with Google Contacts and you can immediately start building responsive, dynamic visualizations and dashboards. By surfacing Google Contacts data using native Tableau data types and handling complex filters, aggregations, & other operations automatically, CData Tableau Connectors grant seamless access to Google Contacts data.
NOTE: The CData Tableau Connectors require Tableau 2020.3 or higher. If you are using an older version of Tableau, you will need to use the CData JDBC Driver. If you wish to connect to Google Contacts data in Tableau Cloud, you will need to use CData Connect AI.
Open Tableau and click More under Connect -> To a Server. Select "Google Contacts by CData," then configure the connection and click "Sign In."
You can connect to Google APIs on behalf of individual users or on behalf of a domain. Google uses the OAuth authentication standard. See the "Getting Started" section of the help documentation for a guide.
