Nintex Workflow Cloud is a cloud-based platform where you can design workflows to automate simple or complex processes using drag-and-drop interactions β without writing any code. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to Google Directory data for business applications. This article shows how to create a virtual database for Google Directory in Connect AI and build a simple workflow from Google Directory data in Nintex.
CData Connect AI provides a pure, cloud-to-cloud interface for Google Directory, allowing you to build workflows from live Google Directory data in Nintex Workflow Cloud β without replicating the data to a natively supported database. Nintex allows you to access data directly using SQL queries. Using optimized data processing out of the box, CData Connect AI pushes all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc.) directly to Google Directory, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return the requested Google Directory data.
Connectivity to Google Directory from Nintex is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Google Directory data from Nintex, we start by creating and configuring a Google Directory connection.
Google uses the OAuth authentication standard. You can authorize the data provider to access Google Spreadsheets as an individual user or with a Google Apps Domain service account.
See the Getting Started section of the data provider help documentation for an authentication guide.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)
When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Google Directory data from Nintex Workflow Cloud.
The steps below outline creating a new connection to Google Directory data from Nintex (via Connect AI).
With the connection to CData Connect AI configured, we are ready to build a simple workflow to access Google Directory data. Start by clicking the "Create workflow" button.
Once you configure the actions, click "Save," name the Workflow, and click "Save" again. You now have a simple workflow that will query Google Directory using SQL and sand an email with the results.
