Nintex Workflow Cloud is a cloud-based platform where you can design workflows to automate simple or complex processes using drag-and-drop interactions β without writing any code. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to Google Search results for business applications. This article shows how to create a virtual database for Google Search in Connect AI and build a simple workflow from Google Search results in Nintex.
CData Connect AI provides a pure, cloud-to-cloud interface for Google Search, allowing you to build workflows from live Google Search results in Nintex Workflow Cloud β without replicating the data to a natively supported database. Nintex allows you to access data directly using SQL queries. Using optimized data processing out of the box, CData Connect AI pushes all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc.) directly to Google Search, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return the requested Google Search results.
Connectivity to Google Search from Nintex is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Google Search results from Nintex, we start by creating and configuring a Google Search connection.
To search with a Google custom search engine, you need to set the CustomSearchId and ApiKey connection properties.
To obtain the CustomSearchId property, sign into Google Custom Search Engine and create a new search engine.
To obtain the ApiKey property, you must enable the Custom Search API in the Google API Console.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Google Search results from Nintex Workflow Cloud.
The steps below outline creating a new connection to Google Search results from Nintex (via Connect AI).
With the connection to CData Connect AI configured, we are ready to build a simple workflow to access Google Search results. Start by clicking the "Create workflow" button.
Once you configure the actions, click "Save," name the Workflow, and click "Save" again. You now have a simple workflow that will query Google Search using SQL and sand an email with the results.
