Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) is a completely managed, serverless data integration service. When combined with CData Connect AI, ADF enables immediate cloud-to-cloud access to Greenplum data within data flows. This article outlines the process of connecting to Greenplum through Connect AI and accessing Greenplum data within ADF.
CData Connect AI offers a cloud-to-cloud interface tailored for Greenplum, granting you the ability to access live data from Greenplum data within Azure Data Factory without the need for data replication to a natively supported database. Equipped with optimized data processing capabilities by default, CData Connect AI seamlessly channels all supported SQL operations, including filters and JOINs, directly to Greenplum. This harnesses server-side processing to expedite the retrieval of the desired Greenplum data.
Connectivity to Greenplum from Azure Data Factory is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Greenplum data from Azure Data Factory, we start by creating and configuring a Greenplum connection.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
To connect to Greenplum, set the Server, Port (the default port is 5432), and Database connection properties and set the User and Password you wish to use to authenticate to the server. If the Database property is not specified, the default database for the authenticate user is used.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Greenplum data from Azure Data Factory.
To establish a connection from Azure Data Factory to the CData Connect AI Virtual SQL Server API, follow these steps.
