Nintex Workflow Cloud is a cloud-based platform where you can design workflows to automate simple or complex processes using drag-and-drop interactions β without writing any code. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to Greenplum data for business applications. This article shows how to create a virtual database for Greenplum in Connect AI and build a simple workflow from Greenplum data in Nintex.
CData Connect AI provides a pure, cloud-to-cloud interface for Greenplum, allowing you to build workflows from live Greenplum data in Nintex Workflow Cloud β without replicating the data to a natively supported database. Nintex allows you to access data directly using SQL queries. Using optimized data processing out of the box, CData Connect AI pushes all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc.) directly to Greenplum, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return the requested Greenplum data.
Connectivity to Greenplum from Nintex is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Greenplum data from Nintex, we start by creating and configuring a Greenplum connection.
To connect to Greenplum, set the Server, Port (the default port is 5432), and Database connection properties and set the User and Password you wish to use to authenticate to the server. If the Database property is not specified, the default database for the authenticate user is used.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Greenplum data from Nintex Workflow Cloud.
The steps below outline creating a new connection to Greenplum data from Nintex (via Connect AI).
With the connection to CData Connect AI configured, we are ready to build a simple workflow to access Greenplum data. Start by clicking the "Create workflow" button.
Once you configure the actions, click "Save," name the Workflow, and click "Save" again. You now have a simple workflow that will query Greenplum using SQL and sand an email with the results.
