Metabase is an open source data visualization tool that allows users to create interactive dashboards. When paired with CData Connect AI, users can easily create visualizations and dashboards linked to live Sage Intacct data. This article describes how to connect to Sage Intacct and build a simple visualization using Sage Intacct data.
CData Connect provides a pure cloud-to-cloud interface for Sage Intacct, allowing you to easily integrate with live Sage Intacct data in Metabase β without replicating the data. Connect looks exactly like a SQL Server database to Metabase and uses optimized data processing out of the box to push all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc) directly to Sage Intacct, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return Sage Intacct data.
CData provides the easiest way to access and integrate live data from Sage Intact. Customers use CData connectivity to:
Users frequently integrate Sage Intact with analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel, and leverage our tools to replicate Workday data to databases or data warehouses.

Connectivity to Sage Intacct from Metabase is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Sage Intacct data from Metabase, we start by creating and configuring a Sage Intacct connection.
To connect using the Login method, the following connection properties are required: User, Password, CompanyId, SenderId and SenderPassword.
User, Password, and CompanyId are the credentials for the account you wish to connect to.
SenderId and SenderPassword are the Web Services credentials assigned to you by Sage Intacct.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Sage Intacct data from Metabase.
After creating the connection in Connect AI, navigate to your Metabase instance. Use the SQL Server interface to connect to Connect AI.
Once you configure the connection to Connect AI, you can query Sage Intacct and build visualizations.
SELECT Name, TotalDue FROM Customerπ Collected data (Salesforce is shown).
At this point, you have built a simple visualization from Sage Intacct data in Metabase. You can continue to work with live Sage Intacct data in Metabase just like you would any SQL Server database.
