Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) is a completely managed, serverless data integration service. When combined with CData Connect AI, ADF enables immediate cloud-to-cloud access to Jira Service Management data within data flows. This article outlines the process of connecting to Jira Service Management through Connect AI and accessing Jira Service Management data within ADF.
CData Connect AI offers a cloud-to-cloud interface tailored for Jira Service Management, granting you the ability to access live data from Jira Service Management data within Azure Data Factory without the need for data replication to a natively supported database. Equipped with optimized data processing capabilities by default, CData Connect AI seamlessly channels all supported SQL operations, including filters and JOINs, directly to Jira Service Management. This harnesses server-side processing to expedite the retrieval of the desired Jira Service Management data.
Connectivity to Jira Service Management from Azure Data Factory is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Jira Service Management data from Azure Data Factory, we start by creating and configuring a Jira Service Management connection.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
You can establish a connection to any Jira Service Desk Cloud account or Server instance.
To connect to a Cloud account, you'll first need to retrieve an APIToken. To generate one, log in to your Atlassian account and navigate to API tokens > Create API token. The generated token will be displayed.
Supply the following to connect to data:
To authenticate with a service account, supply the following connection properties:
Note: Password has been deprecated for connecting to a Cloud Account and is now used only to connect to a Server Instance.
By default, the connector only surfaces system fields. To access the custom fields for Issues, set IncludeCustomFields.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to Jira Service Management data from Azure Data Factory.
To establish a connection from Azure Data Factory to the CData Connect AI Virtual SQL Server API, follow these steps.
