The CData JDBC driver for Kintone is easy to integrate with Java Web applications. This article shows how to efficiently connect to Kintone data in Jetty by configuring the driver for connection pooling. You will configure a JNDI resource for Kintone in Jetty.
Follow the steps below to connect to Salesforce from Jetty.
Enable the JNDI module for your Jetty base. The following command enables JNDI from the command-line:
java -jar ../start.jar --add-to-startd=jndi
Declare the resource and its scope. Enter the required connection properties in the resource declaration. This example declares the Kintone data source at the level of the Web app, in WEB-INF\jetty-env.xml.
<Configure id='kintonedemo' class="org.eclipse.jetty.webapp.WebAppContext"> <New id="kintonedemo" class="org.eclipse.jetty.plus.jndi.Resource"> <Arg><Ref refid="kintonedemo"/></Arg> <Arg>jdbc/kintonedb</Arg> <Arg> <New class="cdata.jdbc.kintone.KintoneDriver"> <Set name="url">jdbc:kintone:</Set> <Set name="User">myuseraccount</Set> <Set name="Password">mypassword</Set> <Set name="Url">http://subdomain.domain.com</Set> <Set name="GuestSpaceId">myspaceid</Set> </New> </Arg> </New> </Configure>
In addition to the authentication values, set the following parameters to connect to and retrieve data from Kintone:
Kintone supports the following authentication methods.
You must set the following to authenticate:
If the basic authentication security feature is set on the domain, supply the additional login credentials with BasicAuthUser and BasicAuthPassword. Basic authentication requires these credentials in addition to User and Password.
Instead of basic authentication, you can specify a client certificate to authenticate. Set SSLClientCert, SSLClientCertType, SSLClientCertSubject, and SSLClientCertPassword. Additionally, set User and Password to your login credentials.
Configure the resource in the Web.xml:
jdbc/kintonedb javax.sql.DataSource Container
You can then access Kintone with a lookup to java:comp/env/jdbc/kintonedb:
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext();
DataSource mykintone = (DataSource)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/jdbc/kintonedb");
The steps above show how to configure the driver in a simple connection pooling scenario. For more use cases and information, see the Working with Jetty JNDI chapter in the Jetty documentation.
