Microsoft Azure Data Factory (ADF) is a completely managed, serverless data integration service. When combined with CData Connect AI, ADF enables immediate cloud-to-cloud access to MariaDB data within data flows. This article outlines the process of connecting to MariaDB through Connect AI and accessing MariaDB data within ADF.
CData Connect AI offers a cloud-to-cloud interface tailored for MariaDB, granting you the ability to access live data from MariaDB data within Azure Data Factory without the need for data replication to a natively supported database. Equipped with optimized data processing capabilities by default, CData Connect AI seamlessly channels all supported SQL operations, including filters and JOINs, directly to MariaDB. This harnesses server-side processing to expedite the retrieval of the desired MariaDB data.
Connectivity to MariaDB from Azure Data Factory is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with MariaDB data from Azure Data Factory, we start by creating and configuring a MariaDB connection.
CData Connect AI uses a straightforward, point-and-click interface to connect to data sources.
The Server and Port properties must be set to a MariaDB server. If IntegratedSecurity is set to false, then User and Password must be set to valid user credentials. Optionally, Database can be set to connect to a specific database. If not set, the tables from all databases are reported.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to MariaDB data from Azure Data Factory.
To establish a connection from Azure Data Factory to the CData Connect AI Virtual SQL Server API, follow these steps.
