Power BI transforms your company's data into rich visuals for you to collect and organize so you can focus on what matters to you. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get access to Marketo data for visualizations, dashboards, and more. This article shows how to connect to Marketo in CData Connect AI, publish a dataset from Power BI Desktop to the Power BI Service and then create reports on Marketo data in the Power BI service.
Connectivity to Marketo from Power BI Service is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with Marketo data from Power BI Service, we start by creating and configuring a Marketo connection.
Both the REST and SOAP APIs are supported and can be chosen by using the Schema property.
For the REST API: The OAuthClientId, OAuthClientSecret, and RESTEndpoint properties, under the OAuth and REST Connection sections, must be set to valid Marketo user credentials.
For the SOAP API: The UserId, EncryptionKey, and SOAPEndpoint properties, under the SOAP Connection section, must be set to valid Marketo user credentials.
See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for a guide to obtaining these values.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)With the connection configured, you are ready to connect to Marketo data from the Power BI service.
Once you connect to Marketo in Connect AI, you can create a dataset in Power BI desktop and publish the dataset to the Power BI service.
Now that you have published a dataset to the Power BI service, you can create new reports and dashboards based on the published data:
Now you have a direct connection to live Marketo data from the Power BI service. You can create more data sources and new visualizations, build reports, and more β all without replicating Marketo data.
