Coginiti Pro is a single tool for all your SQL data and analytics needs, designed specifically for data engineers, analysts, and data scientists. When paired with the CData JDBC Driver for MongoDB, Coginiti Pro can access and query live MongoDB data. This article describes how to connect to and query MongoDB data from Coginiti Pro.
With built-in optimized data processing, the CData JDBC Driver for MongoDB offers unmatched performance for interacting with live MongoDB data. When you issue complex SQL queries to MongoDB, the driver pushes supported SQL operations, like filters and aggregations, directly to MongoDB and utilizes the embedded SQL engine to process unsupported operations client-side (often SQL functions and JOIN operations). In addition, its built-in dynamic metadata querying allows you to work with and analyze MongoDB data using native data types.
Accessing and integrating live data from MongoDB has never been easier with CData. Customers rely on CData connectivity to:
MongoDB's flexibility means that it can be used as a transactional, operational, or analytical database. That means CData customers use our solutions to integrate their business data with MongoDB or integrate their MongoDB data with their data warehouse (or both). Customers also leverage our live connectivity options to analyze and report on MongoDB directly from their preferred tools, like Power BI and Tableau.

Download the CData JDBC Driver for MongoDB installer, unzip the package, and run the JAR file to install the driver. Then gather the required connection properties.
Set the Server, Database, User, and Password connection properties to connect to MongoDB. To access MongoDB collections as tables you can use automatic schema discovery or write your own schema definitions. Schemas are defined in .rsd files, which have a simple format. You can also execute free-form queries that are not tied to the schema.
NOTE: To use the JDBC driver in Coginiti Pro, you may need a license (full or trial) and a Runtime Key (RTK). For more information on obtaining this license (or a trial), contact our sales team.
For assistance constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the MongoDB JDBC Driver. Double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.mongodb.jarπ Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Salesforce is shown.)
Fill in the connection properties (including the RTK) and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
In the "JDBC Drivers" wizard, set the driver properties (below) and click "Create Driver."
Once the query console is open, write the SQL script you wish to execute and click "Run at Cursor".
NOTE: You can use the explorer on the left to determine table/view names and column names.
