The CData JDBC Driver for MongoDB fully implements the JDBC standard and can provide MongoDB data connectivity to a wide variety of BI, reporting, and ETL tools and custom applications. In this article, we explain how to set MongoDB data as JDBC data source in FineReport and view MongoDB data as a table in the Report Designer.
Accessing and integrating live data from MongoDB has never been easier with CData. Customers rely on CData connectivity to:
MongoDB's flexibility means that it can be used as a transactional, operational, or analytical database. That means CData customers use our solutions to integrate their business data with MongoDB or integrate their MongoDB data with their data warehouse (or both). Customers also leverage our live connectivity options to analyze and report on MongoDB directly from their preferred tools, like Power BI and Tableau.

Follow the instruction below to set MongoDB data as a FineReport database connection.
Next we will set up the data connection definition in the window.
Set the Server, Database, User, and Password connection properties to connect to MongoDB. To access MongoDB collections as tables you can use automatic schema discovery or write your own schema definitions. Schemas are defined in .rsd files, which have a simple format. You can also execute free-form queries that are not tied to the schema.
For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the MongoDB JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line.
java -jar cdata.jdbc.mongodb.jar
Fill in the connection properties and copy the connection string to the clipboard.
π Using the built-in connection string designer to generate a JDBC URL (Salesforce is shown.)When you configure the JDBC URL, you may also want to set the Max Rows connection property. This will limit the number of rows returned, which is especially helpful for improving performance when designing reports and visualizations.
A typical JDBC URL is below:
jdbc:mongodb:Server=MyServer;Port=27017;Database=test;User=test;Password=Password;
Click Test connection to ensure you have configured the connection properly. With the connection to MongoDB set up, you can use it as FineReport data source.
With these simple steps, MongoDB can be used as a JDBC data source in FineReport.
