Power Query is a data transformation and data preparation engine. When paired with CData Connect AI, you get instant, cloud-to-cloud access to NetSuite data from Power Query. This article shows how to connect to Connect AI from Power Query through Microsoft Excel and get live access to NetSuite data for transformation and preparation.
CData Connect AI provides a pure SQL, cloud-to-cloud interface for NetSuite, allowing you to easily integrate with live NetSuite data in Power Query β without replicating the data. CData Connect AI looks exactly like a SQL Server database to Power Query and uses optimized data processing out of the box to push all supported SQL operations (filters, JOINs, etc) directly to NetSuite, leveraging server-side processing to quickly return NetSuite data.
CData provides the easiest way to access and integrate live data from Oracle NetSuite. Customers use CData connectivity to:
Customers use CData solutions to access live NetSuite data from their preferred analytics tools, Power BI and Excel. They also use CData's solutions to integrate their NetSuite data into comprehensive databases and data warehouse using CData Sync directly or leveraging CData's compatibility with other applications like Azure Data Factory. CData also helps Oracle NetSuite customers easily write apps that can pull data from and push data to NetSuite, allowing organizations to integrate data from other sources with NetSuite.

Connectivity to NetSuite from Power Query is made possible through CData Connect AI. To work with NetSuite data from Power Query, we start by creating and configuring a NetSuite connection.
The User and Password properties, under the Authentication section, must be set to valid NetSuite user credentials. In addition, the AccountId must be set to the ID of a company account that can be used by the specified User. The RoleId can be optionally specified to log in the user with limited permissions.
See the "Getting Started" chapter of the help documentation for more information on connecting to NetSuite.
π Configuring a connection (Salesforce is shown)When connecting to Connect AI through the REST API, the OData API, or the Virtual SQL Server, a Personal Access Token (PAT) is used to authenticate the connection to Connect AI. It is best practice to create a separate PAT for each service to maintain granularity of access.
With the connection configured and a PAT generated, you are ready to connect to NetSuite data from Power Query.
With the connection to Connect AI configured, you are ready to work with live NetSuite data in Power Query.
At this point, you have live access to NetSuite data from Power Query for transformation and preparation.
π Working with data in Power Query (Salesforce is shown)Now you have a direct connection to live NetSuite data from Microsoft Power Query. You can create more connections and transform and preparte your data to better drive business β all without replicating NetSuite data.
