Enable the NetSuite JDBC Driver in KNIME

Use standard data access components in KNIME to create charts and reports with NetSuite data.

One of the strengths of the CData JDBC Driver for NetSuite is its cross-platform support, enabling integration with major BI tools. Follow the procedure below to access NetSuite data in KNIME and to create a chart from NetSuite data using the report designer.

About NetSuite Data Integration

CData provides the easiest way to access and integrate live data from Oracle NetSuite. Customers use CData connectivity to:

  • Access all editions of NetSuite, including Standard, CRM, and OneWorld.
  • Connect with all versions of the SuiteTalk API (SOAP-based) and SuiteQL, which functions like SQL, enabling easier data querying and manipulation.
  • Access predefined and custom reports through support for Saved Searches.
  • Securely authenticate with Token-based and OAuth 2.0, ensuring compatibility and security for all use cases.
  • Use SQL stored procedures to perform functional actions like uploading or downloading files, attaching or detaching records or relationships, retrieving roles, getting extra table or column info, getting job results, and more.

Customers use CData solutions to access live NetSuite data from their preferred analytics tools, Power BI and Excel. They also use CData's solutions to integrate their NetSuite data into comprehensive databases and data warehouse using CData Sync directly or leveraging CData's compatibility with other applications like Azure Data Factory. CData also helps Oracle NetSuite customers easily write apps that can pull data from and push data to NetSuite, allowing organizations to integrate data from other sources with NetSuite.

Getting Started


Define a New JDBC Connection to NetSuite Data

  1. Go to File -> Preferences -> KNIME -> Databases
  2. Click Add File and add the cdata.jdbc.netsuite.jar. The driver JAR file is located in the lib subfolder of the installation directory. 👁 CData drivers added to a KNIME workflow.
  3. Click Find driver classes
  4. Set the ID and the Name of the connection (you can set any values you prefer for these fields as they are not restricted)
  5. Set the URL template. A typical JDBC URL is provided below: 
    	 jdbc:netsuite:Account Id=XABC123456;Password=password;User=user;Role Id=3;Version=2013_1;

    6. For assistance in constructing the JDBC URL, use the connection string designer built into the NetSuite data JDBC Driver. Either double-click the JAR file or execute the jar file from the command-line. 

    	java -jar cdata.jdbc.netsuite.jar

  6. Click OK to close the configuration section. 👁 Registering new database CData drivers in KNIME workflow.
  7. Under Node Repository go to DB -> Connection -> drag and drop DB Connector. Double-click on it and change the driver name to the driver you just configured, in this case, NetSuite (ID: NetSuite). The Database URL should change automatically. 👁 Configuring the CData driver
  8. Click Apply and OK to save changes. 👁 Authentication
  9. Right-click on the connector and select Execute. You will see that the connector will allow you to redirect to the browser where you will need to log in and allow access. After that, you will get connected successfully. 👁 Executing the DB Connector

    10. Now you can go to the Read/Write section in Node Repository and get a DB Query Reader, to be able to execute a query. 👁 DB Query Reader

  10. Double-click on your DB Query Reader and click the refresh button to load the metadata. Create an SQL Statement and click Evaluate. After clicking Evaluate you will be able to see the records requested.
